This project tells the story of a family returning to Bangalore after 50 years in the United States. The client, formerly a leader at American Airlines, wanted to reconnect with his roots and the home his grandparents once owned in southern Bangalore. Inspired by his childhood memories and the family's heritage, he envisioned a home blending traditional and modern elements.

The design integrates Indo-Saracenic architecture, a style combining British colonial and local influences, with contemporary features. Materials such as lime panels, handcrafted ceramics, and composite brick walls echo the city's historic aesthetic. Reclaimed timber from his family's past furniture and building methods are incorporated to reflect their heritage.

The house is designed as a cluster of three independent homes, accommodating the extended family while allowing for privacy. Key features include a large, cascading landscape ramp that connects the ground and second floors, and a central courtyard providing natural light and ventilation. Traditional elements, like an old-world swing and antique furniture, are combined with modern conveniences, creating a space that honors the past while embracing the present.

The home also includes a large terrace for gatherings, natural ventilation systems, and thoughtful design to mitigate noise from nearby traffic and metro lines. Overall, the house merges historical charm with modern functionality, offering a seamless blend of old and new for future generations to enjoy.
